“Circ”: The City by the Circle
At over 400 years old, Circ (also known as “The City by the Circle”) is one of the world’s two oldest cities. It is situated just south of a perfectly circular pre-Loss structure. This “Circle” seems to be made of the same virtually indestructible materials as The Wall, although it is much shorter and has a domed roof.
The city itself is a mixture of old and new buildings. Many artisan guilds are based there, as in Congress Monastery. The population of Circ is very diverse, unlike the city of Mt. Renna.
If you want to meet the locals, simply spend some time in one of the many square parks scattered across the city. You might even get invited to one of the many parties held by the cities movers and shakers.
Although the city’s upper crust might seem staid and exclusionary, the locals value eccentricity more than propriety. Prove yourself unusual and interesting and just outside of social norms, and you should earn a spot at the top of every party’s guest list.
Neighboring Communities
Although usually described as a city, it may be more accurate to describe it as the sprawling center of several communities.
Cat’s Hill
Cat’s Hill (sometimes written Catshill) is a suburb of Circ. It sits to the east of the city and is home to several successful artisan guilds.
Crumbs
Crumbs is a small farming town northwest of Circ, just far enough away that many residents of Circ would not consider it a part of the city. It is not uncommon for young folks from Crumbs to move to Circ to learn a trade.
